You probably heard about the ongoing racism in the US. No, I am not talking about black vs white, I am referring to the blue vs green bubble. Yes, the color of your text boxes. Now most of you would assume that’s such a silly topic.
Well, not in the US.
Let's dive straight into the statistics. Apple is a firm valued at approximately $3 trillion, and in my opinion, the US was the primary contributor to reaching that enormous figure.
Take a guess: what proportion of Americans do you believe own iPhones—30%, 50%, more than 50%?
NOPE, 90%
Ninety percent of Americans own an iPhone.
As you try to process those numbers, let's get to the point of why we are talking about it: "NOTHING."
NOTHING Technology Limited, the company that stormed into the tech industry and immediately became the enthusiast’s favorite.
This young company released its first smartphone NOTHING PHONE (1) and because of its competitive price, well-optimized software, and balanced specs. This phone managed to get the trophy of the Best Mid-range Smartphone of the Year 2023 by Mrwhosetheboss.
Now with the release of NOTHING PHONE (2), This company took a very interesting step that we must talk about: “iMessage is now available on Android”
WHAT???
Well, there is a catch, there is always a catch. This young company collaborated with another company called “SunBird” to create an app that can be used as iMessage, especially for the NOTHING PHONE (2).
You must have heard about the "lock-in" effect of the Apple ecosystem, which essentially states that your experience will improve the more Apple devices you buy.
Apple is a very intelligent corporation that designed and optimized all of its gadgets so that, while an iPhone works flawlessly, a Macbook, iPad, or any other Apple device will sync with one another to provide you with an experience that is unequaled by anything else on the market.
Now yeah, we got the idea, Apple is great but competition is very important or the rate of innovation will decrease which is a major complaint from users towards APPLE.
Now back to our young company,
Their CEO Carl Pei, one of his famous lines is:
“Mobile companies are not innovating anymore and we are here to make Tech fun again”
And there is no denying that the software they developed for their smartphone is NOTHING OS, It's top-notch.
Yes, they have bugs, but seriously which phone doesn’t?
At least they are pushing regular updates to improve their phones and in my eyes, they are very much on the right track.
NOTHING CHATS is the name of the app that they are going to use to camouflage themselves to get in the blue bubble zone. It is fascinating but it has not been released in INDIA yet. So, currently, knowingexperience to know how good the app is but fingers crossed.
With this move finally, the gap is lessened for iPhone users to switch to Android more like a switch to NOTHING but this is an improvement.
A point to be noted though THE GAP IS NOT FILLED YET,
Yes, because of Nothing Chats Android to iPhone texting situation hopefully will get better but iPhones still have iClouds, FaceTime, and many more strong cards up to their sleeves.
So, it’s still very hard for a user to switch from an iPhone to an Android but it certainly is possible as THE BIGGEST WALL surrounding Apple’s ecosystem i.e. iMessage is climbed by “NOTHING”.
